As Alderman for Ward 5 of Southaven, Mississippi, since 1993, Ricky Jobes invests his work with a deep commitment to the long-term growth and success of his city, evidenced by an outstanding history of civic contributions. In his day-to-day responsibilities to the City of Southaven, Jobes collaborates with fellow aldermen and various department heads on all manner of city initiatives, from funding for police and fire departments to environmental stewardship.

As a strong testament to Ricky Jobes’ leadership, Southaven has enjoyed population growth in excess of 500 percent over the past two decades, positioning the city as the fourth largest in Mississippi. In addition, Jobes helps to ensure a sound fiscal policy and operating budget for Southaven, which currently boasts a best-in-class AAA bond rating.

In tandem with his work as Alderman, Ricky Jobes holds membership in the Southaven Chamber of Commerce, through which he creates various business opportunities for the city and its residents. Also, Jobes formerly served on the Mississippi State Board for FEMA, the Board of the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, and other such organizations. Noted for his charitable contributions, Ricky Jobes has donated his time, energy, and resources to a number of worthwhile causes in his home state and beyond, including the Mississippi State Troopers Association, the Mississippi Firefighters Association, the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society.

A pharmaceutical sales executive as well, Ricky Jobes has earned both regional and national recognition for his work in this field. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Memphis, Jobes earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Science, and Education.
